MEET JOHN
A native of Norfolk, Virginia, baritone John Ford developed his passion for opera at an early age, first appearing in productions as part of the children’s chorus at Virginia Opera. Most recently, he was seen as Masetto (cover) in Don Giovanni at St Petersburg Opera, Schaunard and Marcello (cover) in a touring production of La Bohème with Peach State Opera, and the Count in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in Germany.
Some of his favorite roles include the title roles in Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro, Dandini (La Cenerentola), Belcore (L’Elisir d’amore), Marcello (La Bohème), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) and Guglielmo (Così fan tutte).
John received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Georgia and holds a Masters of Music in Voice Performance from Georgia State University. A student of Kay Paschal, John currently resides in New York City.
